Aussois, France
Jason and I just got back from the French Alps - one of the most beautiful and interesting places I have ever been! I'm still kicking myself because the first two days we were there, the weather was crystal clear, but I didn't get around to taking any pictures. By the time I did break my camera out, a haze had moved in that stayed for the rest of our time there. Hopefully these pictures will do the area at least a little justice.
We stayed in a small village called Aussois. It was set right on the edge of a valley with amazing views in every direction:
There was only one road that lead through the village:
It was kind of like being in a ghost town. Aussois is a very popular ski village in the winter time, but the place is completely deserted in the summer. There were probably a dozen restaurants and a dozen shops there, but only one of each was open while we were there. The rest had signs in the windows indicating that they were closed until December!
It was one of the most peaceful, relaxing places I've ever been and I definitely hope to go back!

Ok, I have two comments for you two. Well...more for Jas. Ok 1- Could you look more miserable in the pic while you are on the riverboat or whatever its called. And 2- Jas, the pictures of you in the helmet make me reminisce of those wonderful times of you (once again in a helmet), licking windows and riding what would resemble a short bus. Oh, and me chasing after it like a dog. Ok, thats all for now. More comments will follow.
