Guitar Hero Smackdown

Yesterday while we were out celebrating Jason's successful defense, Tony announced that since he would be getting a new iPhone next week, he was looking to get rid of his iPod. I won't go into detail about what the iPhone is, for those of you who aren't familiar with it, it's only a matter of time before Jason posts about it...he and Tony seem to think iPhones are going to revolutionize life as we know it. To satisfy your curiosity, here's a picture:

It's all very secretive, but supposedly, the going rate for one of these bad boys is going to be around $500. We'll see if they are all they're cracked up to be...quite soon actually, Tony plans to drive to Indy and wait in line to buy one on the day they are released; now that's dedication!

Anyhow, this post isn't about iPhones, it's about Tony deciding to get rid of his iPod. Upon hearing this, Jamie became very excited, because she's been wanting an iPod. Tony told her that he'd sell it to her for $100. The agreement was made and all was well...until Jamie decided to make a friendly little wager with Tony. The stakes? If Jamie wins, Tony gives her the iPod for free, if she loses, she pays double. The bed? One game of Guitar Hero, specifically the song "Heart Shaped Box" with the game set on 'expert' level. Now, for you to really appreciate this story, you need to understand a few things. First off, what is Guitar Hero? It's a video game in which players use guitar shaped control pads to play the notes of songs that are scrolled across a screen. These two gentlemen, whose picture I shamelessly stole off the internet, are engaged in a rousing game of Guitar Hero:

The game screen looks something like this:

Each colored disk corresponds to a key on the guitar that must be held down while "strumming" the fake guitar cord.

The second important piece of background information is that Jamie has challenged Tony to Guitar Hero in the past...and every time, he has KILLED her! So why, you might ask, did she decide to make such an apparently unwise bet? We don't know...that's what we're all asking ourselves. All I know is that now Jamie claims that she's thinking about bring Guitar Hero with her to Hawaii so she can practice. Seriously Jamie?!...Guitar Hero over the beach?...are you crazy?

All I can say is, may the best man (or woman) win!
