Back to Work
You may have noticed my posts have been a little less frequent lately; that's because last Monday marked my return to the real world. That's right, I'm officially back to work. I think I'm going to like it at Northwestern. I've been given a temporary office in a really nice building that's only a few years old. I'm trying to be as inconspicuous as possible in hopes that they might just forget I'm there all together and let me keep the awesome office! Here's the building my office is currently in...the arrow indicates (roughly) where my office is located:
And this is the building from the inside:
Because the building was created as a center for engineering design, it has some really neat architecture. Most of the walls (exterior as well as interior) and the ceiling are huge sheets of glass, so the building has a nice, open feel to it and everyone gets a window office!
Jason hasn't had as much luck with his office situation. His work space looks something like this:
There are only a few subtle differences between the picture and his real office:
1) the flooring is actually a stained-up, torn red carpet.
2) there are only two window panes, one that is filled by an old AC unit that is very obviously on its last leg.
3) most of the paint is peeling off the walls.
Other than that, the picture captures the essence of his work space quite nicely.
In other news, Tim and Faith did NOT disappoint! To put it simply, THE BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER SEEN!! The music was fantastic...they performed for over three hours!
Jamie summed up another nice part of the show when, after using a pair of binoculars to get a good look at Tim on stage, she turned to me with a shocked look on her face and said, "Oh my goodness Mica! I never knew I liked guys in tight Wranglers until right now!" Well stated Jamie, well stated.
Their tour doesn't last much longer, so HURRY!...go see them while you can!

Hey Mica! Glad to hear that NU is treating you well so far. I'll get in touch soon - still working on my 'paper'...
