Anthony's Adventures in Cambridge
I had a very hard time selecting a title for this post. Also in consideration were: 'Nerding Around in Cambridge', 'NERD ALERT! NERD ALERT!', and 'Miriam, Dina, Save ME!' I finally settled on the chosen title because of the stark contrast it demonstrates between our last visitors (Jason's parents) and their Adventures in Cambridge. Anthony has been here for about three days now - here's what "we" have been up to.
Day 1:
10AM - Get up and ready for the day.
12PM - Attend a talk by David Chandler - Nano-scale self-assembly where frustration trumps growth and kinetics trumps thermodynamics. I, you might be surprised to hear, didn't make it to this...
1:30PM - Lunch at a nice pub with a patio on the river (definitely the most "touristy" event of the last few days).
3:00PM - Computer (which I've learned is "machine" in nerd-speak) assembly
5:00PM - Mad dash to the electronics store (on bikes, in the dark) to get more computer stuff
7:00PM - Pizza Hut delivery for dinner
9:00PM - A brief introduction to British TV
Day 2:
10AM - Another run to the electronics store
11AM - Breakfast including the British favorite scones
1PM - Software installation:
1:30PM - Glitch in software installation:
2PM - Back on track:
3PM - Yet another problem:
4PM - Success, FINALLY!
5PM - Showers and out for dinner at The Eagle, a local pub famous for the fact that Watson and Crick celebrated there after discovering DNA.
Two questions - 1) Does this seem any different from Anthony's day to day life? and 2) Miriam and Dina, where are you guys when I need you?!

Pizza Hut? Really?
Not really different from day to day life. Definitely not different than many of his trips to Chicago to visit you guys!
I wish I could say I was surprised, but I'm not. No matter his surroundings, Anthony is ALWAYS a nerd.
