Dial-up internet - that still exists?!

Why has this blog been silent for so long? Dial-up internet is to blame! I've just returned from three awesome weeks in the States visiting family. The only downside to the trip (aside from the travel nightmare - details to come)? - a three week loss of any viable connectivity. I hardly knew dial-up was even still an option. Checking my email consisted of the following routine: start-up internet software and initiate dial-up, shower while waiting for a connection, type gmail.com into address bar, make and eat breakfast while waiting for site to load, enter my email log-in information, do a load of laundry, try to open an email, give up on it before it ever loads... How do people live like that? Mom, I still have a lot of patience to learn from you!
