Oh Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree
I love the holiday season, Christmas music, decorations, the whole bit. Knowing this, my parents (a) decided to actually put up a tree this year and (b) waited on my arrival so I could help decorate it. Well, because of all the snow we got, a quick trip to pick up a tree always seemed like a bit more than any of us really felt like tackling. One thing led to another and before we knew it it was Christmas Eve and we'd never gotten around to getting a tree.
We were planning on celebrating Christmas on the 26th since Kyle, Maureen, and Reagan were visiting her parents on the 25th. To pass the time on Christmas Day, we went to a movie and, on the way home, realized that in all of our planning for our family dinner on the 26th, we hadn't picked up anything to eat on the 25th. We pulled into a grocery store parking lot on the hope that they might by some stroke of luck be open. Not a chance on that front, however we did stumble upon something very exciting for me - three lone Christmas trees with a sign that read: "Free, please take."
We threw one in the back of the car and headed home for an evening of decorating! After a Macaroni and Cheese Christmas dinner, here we are celebrating Christmas:
