Call me "Dr." Mica

I spent my last week in the States with my cousin in Southern Idaho. She was due to have a baby December 27th, so I planned to arrive on January 1st to help her out with the new addition. When we were making these plans, we failed to realize that Devin might have plans of his own - upon my arrival in Boise, there was still no baby. Kari's doctor decided to induce labor the next day, so I got to be there for the birth. What an experience! Right after he was born, the doctor tried to convince dad to cut the umbilical cord, but he wanted nothing to do with it. Out of the blue, I found myself nominated to do the job because I was "the only other doctor in the room." As you can see, I guess I earned my credentials - I managed to complete the job without chopping off any fingers or toes!

What you also might notice from this picture is that Devin was a BIG boy - good work cousin!
