Guilty Pleasures

I have to say that I'm embarrassed to admit what I am about to admit to because I know many of you will judge me for it. We all have our guilty pleasures though, right?

I'm really into this season of American Idol! Unlike most years where there are one or two standouts among a bunch of decent karaoke singers, I'm actually torn between quite a few of the contestants this year. My favorites, in no particular order?:

• Danny Gokey - okay, this one is in a particular order because he's my favorite, probably in part because of his incredibly sad story, but still, I think he's great!
• Alexis Grace - also a very good singer, but very likable too.
• Allison Iraheta - seriously, you're only 16?!
• Lil Rounds - I know, I know, what kind of name is Lil, right? But she's good!
• Adam Lambert - you're an odd one, I kind of don't want to like you...but I do!

As for my thoughts on some of the other contestants:

• Anoop Desai - I'm sorry to say this, but are you this year's answer to Sanjaya?
• Michael Sarver - you just aren't good. How you made it this far is beyond me...
• Meagan Joy - I want to like you, but your awkwardness on the stage makes you painful to watch.

I'm withholding judgment on the others but thus far, I'm not particularly impressed. Who do you love and hate?
